Nordic-Baltic Summit
Initially starting out as the Nordic Summit for Digital Careers Services, the event has been expanded in recent years to include Baltic countries and also Scotland and has now become the Nordic-Baltic Summit for digital careers services.
The Summit takes place annually, bringing together representatives from nine countries: Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Scotland. Scotland has been invited to two previous events in Tromso and Vilnius as guests and has led to Scotland accepting the invitation to host the event in 2026.
Purpose and Format
The Nordic-Baltic Digital Summit brings together partners from Scotland and the Nordic-Baltic nations to share insights, showcase and discuss implementation approaches, explore emerging opportunities and strengthen international collaboration in digital innovation, skills and workforce development.
The Summit is an in-person event, held over two days, with representatives from all countries participating for the duration. Speakers and presentations from attending nations, round table discussions and a capture of the outputs are a constant. The event always has a dinner and cultural activities on the first evening.
2026 Summit
This year will be the first time that Scotland has hosted the Nordic-Baltic Summit for Digital Careers Services. The venue for the Summit is Imaginex, Yotel, Edinburgh, which is located in central Edinburgh.
An organising group has been established with representatives from each country and other important related organisations. Monthly meetings are held to shape the overall approach for the Summit including the themes, speakers and format.
This year there will be external speakers to provide inspiration and provocation, short demonstrations from member countries, dynamic round table discussions and an action-oriented output that will be shared with participants. There is also consideration being given to young people participating.
