Key data from West Lothian

In the last 12 months to the 30th of September 2019 we supported 18 employers and 814 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 27th of December 2019 there were 1,345 Modern Apprentices in training.

From 1st April 2019 to 27th December 2019 we supported 764 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in West Lothian is 75%.

From 1st June 2019 to 31st December 2019 we delivered 8,315 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 5,063 school pupils through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1st April 2019 to 31st December 2019, 5,368 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

My World of Work

From 1st April 2019 to 31st December 2019 we funded 166 Employability Fund starts.

From 1st April 2019 to 31st December 2019 we delivered 2,272 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 885 post-school customers through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

The 2019 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 7,944 16-19 year olds in West Lothian 90.6% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in West Lothian

We help local employers in West Lothian make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

Supporting partners in West Lothian

We work closely with schools across West Lothian, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their own services. This has included supporting staff in West Lothian Council and West Lothian College to build links from their websites to My World of Work, helping signpost to online careers information and advice.
