Key data from South Lanarkshire

In the last 12 months to the 31 March 2018 we supported 11 employers and 284 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 31 March 2018 there were 2,559 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we supported 1,850 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in South Lanarkshire is 77%.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we delivered 32,880 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 14,669 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 10,182 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we funded 662 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 64 businesses.

The 2017 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 14,040 16-19 year olds in South Lanarkshire 91.2% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

We help local employers in South Lanarkshire make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

Supporting partners in South Lanarkshire

We work closely with schools across South Lanarkshire, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their services. This has included working with South Lanarkshire College, to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
