Key data from South Lanarkshire

In the last 12 months to the 30 September 2018 we supported 27 employers and 1,008 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 28 September 2018 there were 2,569 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we supported 854 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in South Lanarkshire is 68%.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we delivered 10,917 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 6,841 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 5,684 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we funded 319 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 29 businesses.

The 2018 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 13,786 16-19 year olds in South Lanarkshire 92.5% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in South Lanarkshire

We help local employers in South Lanarkshire make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last six months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

Supporting partners in South Lanarkshire

We work closely with schools across South Lanarkshire, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their services. This has included working with South Lanarkshire College, to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
