Key data from Aberdeenshire

In the last 12 months to the 31 March 2018 we supported 11 employers and 185 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 31 March 2018 there were 1,901 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we supported 991 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in Aberdeenshire is 80%.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we delivered 20,039 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 10,365 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 7,115 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 we funded 216 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 54 businesses.

The 2017 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 11,175 16-19 year olds in Aberdeenshire 93.5% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in Aberdeenshire

We help local employers in Aberdeenshire make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last 12 months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

Supporting partners in Aberdeenshire

We work closely with schools across Aberdeenshire, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We've also organised update and awareness sessions for other local partner organisations including as Aberdeen Foyer. We provide after care and follow-up sessions to ensure the efficient embedding of My World of Work in their services. This has included close ties with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in Aberdeenshire to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
