Key data from South Ayrshire

In the last 12 months to the 30 June 2018 we supported 7 employers and 99 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 29 June 2018 there were 668 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we supported 93 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in South Ayrshire is 72%.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we delivered 2,440 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 1,947 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 1,157 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we funded 47 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 7 businesses.

The 2018 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 4,636 16-19 year olds in South Ayrshire 91.6% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in South Ayrshire

We help local employers in South Ayrshire make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last three months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

Supporting partners in South Ayrshire

We work closely with schools across South Ayrshire, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their services. This has included working with Ayr College, to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
