In the last 12 months to the 30 September 2018 we supported 62 employers and 783 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 28 September 2018 there were 3,902 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we supported 1,251 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in Glasgow City is 73%.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we delivered 24,233 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 12,531 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 we funded 682 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 September 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 84 businesses.

The 2018 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 20,455 16-19 year olds in Glasgow City 88.8% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in Glasgow

We help local employers in Glasgow City make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last six months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

Supporting partners in Glasgow

We work closely with schools across Glasgow, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We also organise update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their own services. This has included close ties with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) across Glasgow to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
