Key data from East Lothian

In the last 12 months to the 30 June 2018 we supported 3 employer and 42 individual dealing with redundancy.

As of 29 June 2018 there were 725 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we supported 105 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in East Lothian is 69%.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we delivered 1,485 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 1,021 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 589 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 we funded 17 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 7 businesses.

The 2018 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 4,183 16-19 year olds in East Lothian 94.7% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in East Lothian

We help local employers in East Lothian make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last three months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

  • Skills advice to seven companies

In the last 12 months we also supported four companies and 45 individuals dealing with redundancy.

Supporting partners in East Lothian

We work closely with schools across East Lothian, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their own services. This has included working with East Lothian Works to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
