AI Workforce Intelligence Hub
Developing insight on how artificial intelligence is changing work, skills and the labour market in Scotland
Artificial intelligence (AI) is moving at pace, and this means Scotland’s labour market is changing. As more employers begin to use AI to support routine tasks, improve decision-making and to create new ways of working, the skills people need for work are evolving.
The AI Workforce Intelligence Hub is a collaboration between Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and CBI Economics and brings together employer insight, labour market analysis, data modelling and wider evidence to provide practical intelligence on how AI is affecting jobs, skills and workforce demand in Scotland.
SDS will use this insight to strengthen our careers, workforce and digital services. By bringing together skills and labour market intelligence, we will equip practioners, providers and stakeholders with timely evidence about how jobs and skills are changing. We will continue to track how AI is changing jobs, tasks and skills needs, ensuring that the intelligence and support we provide remain relevant as the technology and labour market evolve. As the evidence develops and is tested further, it can also support more personalised information to help understand where new opportunities emerge, what support may be needed to prepare for change and to inform decisions about career development and workforce planning.

We will interpret and share emerging evidence through existing forums and partnerships, helping them anticipate change and support coordinated action across Scotland.
The hub is a shared resource for AI workforce intelligence in Scotland. It will gather and develop evidence from employer engagement, labour market data, research and partner insight, interpret what this means for Scotland's workforce, and share clear, actionable intelligence through SDS services and existing partner networks.
