Lesson Starters and Finishers
Lesson starters and lesson finishers have been developed to support practitioners increase the visibility of meta-skills within teaching and learning.
They provide opportunities to engage learners in meaningful discussions about their meta-skills development and start to make connections between learning experiences and the world of work.
This editable PowerPoint template can be used by practitioners at the start of a lesson to share learning intentions and success criteria as well as providing an opportunity to explicitly bring into focus the meta-skills that will be used/developed.
This editable PowerPoint template can be used by practitioners at the end of a lesson to recap on what has been learned and provides an opportunity for learners to discuss and reflect the meta-skills they have used/developed. Adding related job profiles can further contextualise the learning.
If you would like to share some of the lesson starters and finishers you have created by using these templates so as we can make them available for other practitioners to use, please send them to the SDS Education team by clicking ‘Get in touch’ below.
If you are interested in collaborating with us, please register your interest and we will be back in touch as opportunities arise.Opens in a new window Register your interest
