Recommendations for employers

Recommendation 2: Promote and ensure gender diversity within the workplace

Employers should have a proactive strategy to promote and ensure gender diversity. This should include a focus on gender-neutral language in all communications, a strategy for positive action in recruitment, and a focus on pay in line with the Scottish Government Gender Pay Action Plan.

The Gender Commission has created an Action Priority Matrix to determine the kind of activity that will be effective for them in advancing gender diversity in the workplace (see appendix three).
