Results Helpline 2024 - help us spread the word!

CIAG Scotland's career services

As results day approaches, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is calling on those supporting young people and their parents and carers to raise awareness of the Results Helpline.

Almost 150,000 Scottish learners will receive their SQA results on Tuesday 6 August 2024.

Once again, SDS Results Helpline advisers will be at the end of the phone lines offering expert support and advice to young Scots and their parents and carers on their results and next steps.

SDS has created a partner communications toolkit with useful content and resources to help supporters and their networks spread the word and promote the results support on offer from SDS at this crucial time.

For the second year running, the Results Helpline will be operated fully remotely, with advisers across Scotland taking calls at home, from SDS centres, or from community delivery sites.

Results Helpline

The volunteer team of experts will be supported by the Results Helpline project team, led by Ruth Scott, Laura Calgie and Rhona Proctor.

Ruth Scott said: “This year, 46 colleagues from across all four regions and our National Contact Centre have volunteered their time to staff the helpline, from first timers to those with years of experience. Their skills will provide invaluable help to young people at such an important time in their lives and career journey.”

The SDS Results Helpline number is 0808 100 8000 and will go live at 8am on Results Day.

Advisers will have bespoke access to information on:

  • course vacancies at colleges and universities
  • Confirmation and Clearing
  • Foundation, Modern, and Graduate Apprenticeships
  • jobs, volunteering, and training
  • staying on at school.

The SDS Results Helpline 2024 opening hours are:

  • Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 August - 8am to 8pm
  • Thursday 8 and Friday 9 August – 9am to 5pm.
