Inside Scotland's Forestry sector
19% of land in Scotland is covered in forest, including commercial plantations, mixed woodlands, urban forests and even rainforests.
It supports more than 34,000 job to maintain, manage, harvest and expand these forests, and in forest-related tourism.
Work is underway to expand Scotland’s forests with more people needed in everything from hands on planting, specialist crafts like fencing, machine operators for felling, through to roles in environmental science, data and economics.
