SDS's Parents' Voice Survey is now live and we would like to find out how you talk to your child about careers and your awareness and use of our services
SDS’s Strategic Plan (2022 - 27) outlines our ambition to help young people participate more fully in the labour market, experience smoother transitions beyond school, and develop the skills they need to build rewarding careers at every stage of life.
Research consistently shows that parents and carers play a central role in shaping the education and career decisions young people make.
To support this, it’s important that SDS understands the experiences of parents and carers as they help their children consider future career options. The insights gathered through this research inform SDS’s Parent Strategy and support the ongoing improvement of our Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) services across Scotland.
We work closely with schools, with advisers based in every state secondary school in Scotland. Our advisers help young people make informed choices about their futures, and we welcome feedback from parents and carers on the services we provide. You can share your views by completing a short survey.
This survey aims to explore awareness and use of SDS services among parents and carers, as well as how they discuss careers with their young person. The information collected will help us understand your needs and shape the development of our services.
We may use annonymised quotes for reporting purposes, but no responses will be used in a way that could identify an individual.
