Jobs Fair provides support to redundant ExxonMobil staff
AROUND 200 people affected by the closure of the ExxonMobil site in Mossmorran have attended a jobs and careers fair providing support
The event was organised by the Fife Taskforce and Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE). PACE is the Scottish Government’s initiative dedicated to supporting people and businesses affected by redundancy and is a partnership of 24 organisations.
Held at Fife College’s Dunfermline campus, the event offered affected workers with the chance to meet 19 local and national employers, some with current vacancies on offer, learn about different sectors and get support to plan next steps from PACE Partner organisations including Skills Development Scotland, DWP, Fife College, Fife Council and Business Gateway.
Calum MacLean, national manager for PACE from Skills Development Scotland said: “We received excellent feedback from both employees and employers, with those attending the event appreciating the opportunity to directly engage with employers accessing a diverse talent pool.
“The event was a great example of local PACE Partners and employers working together to provide opportunities to those affected by the closure of ExxonMobil.”
