Guidance and Support

‘Skills 4.0 – A skills model to drive Scotland’s future’ illustrates the meta-skills model and outlines why developing these will provide a strong foundation on which humans can prepare themselves for a future that is rapidly changing and increasingly unpredictable.

Introducing learners to the language of meta-skills at an earlier stage in education will support them to not only cope with the changes they will be exposed to later in life but to thrive through these.

This area of the toolkit provides resources that offer guidance and support for senior leaders and practitioners.

Guidance paper

This paper explores the main drivers and policies which underline the importance of skills and the concept of meta-skills within education.

Supporting resources - Coming soon

This area will expand on the guidance outlined in the ‘Developing a skills approach’ section of the Guidance paper and provide additional resources that will help to increase the awareness and desire of practitioners/learners to embrace the language of meta-skills.
