Our Customer Contact Centre supports customers of all ages, who live anywhere in Scotland, on the full range of Skills Development Scotland services.

Based in Glasgow, the contact centre is open Monday to Saturday from 9am-5.30pm on 0800 917 8000. It also has a text-phone facility for customers who are hard of hearing, and facilitates web chats through My World of Work as well as email enquiries coming in from other SDS websites.

Career information, advice and guidance support is offered via the centre’s Careers Advisers, and Personal Advisers are also on hand to offer employability support and web chats.

Support is also offered to employers via the centre's Skills Investment Advisers, who along with the Personal Advisers can give employers advice and guidance on recruitment, development and other areas.

They are supported by Contact Centre Advisers who offer "first-line" help for customers, primarily handling enquiries about SDS Individual Learning Accounts and advice and support across SDS’s websites.

The centre will check in on customers throughout the year to help monitor progress and to offer additional support if required. The team work closely with colleagues from across all areas of Skills Development Scotland.

“I love the variety in my job, and it’s a privilege to support people who are often feeling vulnerable when they call for advice. Every year working on the Exam Results Helpline is always exciting, as colleagues from across the country work alongside us to provide vital advice for young people.”

Ruth Scott, Careers Adviser
