The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), working as part of Skills for Care and Development, manages the frameworks for Social Services and Healthcare and Social Services (Children and Young People).

These new frameworks were approved on 6th February 2014 and are available for use. SSSC also manages the Technical Apprenticeship in Childhood Practice, approved in November 2012 and the Care Services Leadership and Management Professional Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 10 approved in February 2015.

Skills for Care and Development is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for social work, social care, children, early years and young people's services in the UK. It is a partnership of six organisations involved in care and development across the UK; in Scotland, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is responsible for registering people who work in social services and regulating their education and training.
