What does the company do?

Dawnfresh farm and produce quality fish products for major UK retail and export markets.

What’s a typical day for you?

I've worked at Dawnfresh for eight years and it varies day to day! Anything from meetings with the Executive Team, interviewing great people who share our values, team updates, meetings with senior managers, and catching up with emails.

Do you have an apprenticeship programme at Dawnfresh?

We have a great apprenticeship programme - these include operations, logistics, supply chain, IT, engineering and innovation chef.

What is your vision for growing the apprenticeship offer in Scotland?

There is now a great range of apprenticeships available in Scotland including Modern Apprenticeships. These provide people with the opportunity to develop at different stages in life as well as offering a choice of progression.

With the introduction of Foundation and Graduate-Level & Apprenticeships, this offers an even greater degree of opportunity to link industry with education.

Apprenticeships can work for every size of organisation and not just for the large enterprises.  Training and developing an apprentice makes great business sense and helps companies grow their own talent enhancing their employer brand.
