Opito is the the skills organisation for the oil and gas in Scotland, with a mission to support the industry to build a sustainable, competent and safe oil and gas workforce.
Many parts of the sector are incubators of new technologies, particularly chemicals which is the home of industrial biotechnology and also polymers, which is seeing a tremendous growth in composites and associated applications. Other parts of the sector, particularly oil and gas and petroleum generate significant wealth and support the UK's self-sufficiency in energy fuels.
Opito has developed a Modern Apprenticeship in Upstream Oil and Gas Production to support the needs of the sector.
SCQF Level 6 in Upstream Oil and Gas Production
Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons (G8LY 21) is due to enter its lapse period (lapse date 31/1/19) and will not be renewed in its current form. It has been replaced by the OPITO Global 2 Training Certificate (Oil and Gas Processing) at SCQF Level 5 (GK53 04).
