Creative & Cultural Skills (CCS) is the Sector Skills Council for Craft, Cultural Heritage, Design, Literature, Music, Performing, and Visual Arts.

Creative & Cultural Skills have identified a need for a Modern Apprenticeship in Craft to provide the Scottish Craft industries with the first dedicated training and development route for young people seeking to develop themselves as Craft practitioners. The term craft can be defined as ‘contemporary original work conceived, designed and made by individuals including glass, textiles, bookbinding, ceramics, leatherwork, metalwork, basketmaking, technologies producing multiples with an element of handmaking skills.
