SDS will be at stand C90 at the Scottish Learning Festival and we’ll have a team of people on hand to talk to you about the support SDS offers teachers, pupils and schools.

As part of the seminar programme, SDS’s Derek Hawthorne and Karen Watson, along with Angela Vettraino from Dundee and Angus College, will be talking about implementing a My World of Work profile to help young people showcase their skills and achievements. This will take place at 10.45 on the Thursday in Carron 1.

On the back of feedback, we’ve recently opened the profile out to all users of My World of Work, so it’s no longer just for pupils and students. This means pupils can take it with them when they leave school.
Over the next few months our plans for the profile tool include linking the new skills tool developments to the user profile.

If you can’t make it to the seminar, please stop by the stand and have a chat with one of the team. We’d love to talk to you more about:

  • Career Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) services and how we work with young people, parents and teachers
  • New updates on My World of Work, including:
    • The skills tool
    • The profile tool
    • The to-do list
    • Resources for teachers
  • My Kid’s Career – our site for parents and carers with info about jobs now and in the future
  • Marketplace – an online service offering schools a way to link up with local business and industry
  • Apprenticeships - Foundation, Modern and Graduate
  • ICan – our online offer for primary schools
