A free careers event for young people with additional support needs, their parents and teachers is being held in Kilmarnock.

The popular Creating Connections event is returning to Ayrshire College’s Kilmarnock campus on Friday 23 March to provide information on employment and training options for young disabled people and those with additional support needs.

Now in its third year, Creating Connections will give parents, carers, teachers, professionals and young people the chance to find out more about training options, employability support and work opportunities across Ayrshire.

The event, run by Skills Development Scotland and Ayrshire College, will run from 1pm to 4pm, with over 30 organisations scheduled to come along and share what they can do to support young people with additional needs into the world of work.

A number of workshops will also run on the day, covering topics like funding, apprenticeships, training and support.
