Apprenticeship vacancies and recruitment site has had more than 800,000 users and 54,000 applications since it was launched in 2015.

During the past year 185 training providers have either used the site or have been mentioned in employer adverts.

The site aims to connect young people with opportunities and provides a platform for employers to advertise apprenticeship vacancies for free.

New features

The site now includes a dedicated section for training providers featuring support materials and information.

Enhancements have been made to the training provider search, allowing employers to filter their framework search results by pathways.

There’s also a new dedicated area that allows training providers to search for Modern Apprenticeship documentation, such as programme rules and information to help during the contractual year.

Foundation Apprenticeship documentation has also been added to the site.

“Apprenticeships.Scot, from an employer’s point of view, is an excellent website for engaging with young people such as school and college students. “The website is user-friendly, and the advertising process is very straightforward. In our experience of using the website, we always receive an encouraging number of applications and this has led to filling jobs and positive outcomes.”

Future developments

SDS’s digital services team is looking at ways to enhance the vacancy upload process.

SDS Project Executive Laura Kerr said: “We want to understand the challenges that training providers face when they’re managing their vacancies.

“There are lots of ways we can gather insight - sometimes a five minute telephone conversation or quick email exchange is all we need.”
