Key data from Angus

In the last 12 months to the 30 June 2017 we supported 9 employers and 313 individuals dealing with redundancy.


As of 30 June 2017 there were 1,009 apprentices in training.


From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we supported 107 Modern Apprenticeship starts.


The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in Angus is 85%.


From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we delivered 2,871 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 2,046 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.


From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 907 people have registered on


From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we funded 47 Employability Fund starts.


From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 3 businesses.


The 2017 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 4,876 16-19 year olds in Angus 91.9% were in education, employment or training and personal development.


Supporting business in Angus

We help local employers in Angus make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last 3 months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

  • Skills support for 3 companies 
  • Support for 6 companies and 6 individuals to complete the Certificate of Work Readiness

In the last 12 months we also supported nine companies and 313 individuals dealing with redundancy.

Supporting partners in Angus

We work closely with schools across Angus, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts]
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their own services. This has included close ties with Dundee & Angus College to trial new ways to increase capacity building with staff to promote career management skills.
