Key data from Aberdeenshire

In the last 12 months to the 30 June 2017 we supported 9 employers and 191 individuals dealing with redundancy.

As of 30 June 2017 there were 1,847 apprentices in training.

From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we supported 90 Modern Apprenticeship starts.

The Modern Apprenticeship achievement rate in Aberdeenshire is 87%.

From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we delivered 3,336 Career Information, Advice and Guidance engagements for 2,313 people through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions.

From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 1,191 people have registered on myworldofwork.co.uk.

From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 we funded 48 Employability Fund starts.

From 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2017 our Employer Engagement team has provided skills advice to 17 businesses.

The 2017 Annual Participation Measure showed that of the 11,175 16-19 year olds in Aberdeenshire 93.5% were in education, employment or training and personal development.

Supporting business in Aberdeenshire

We help local employers in Aberdeenshire make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last 3 months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

  • Skills advice to 17 companies
  • Support for 3 companies and 1 individuals to complete the Certificate of Work Readiness

In the last 12 months we also supported 9 companies and 191 individuals dealing with redundancy.

Supporting partners in Aberdeenshire

We work closely with schools across Aberdeenshire, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

  • Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
  • Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
  • Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We've also organised update and awareness sessions for other local partner organisations including as Aberdeen Foyer. We provide after care and follow-up sessions to ensure the efficient embedding of My World of Work in their services. This has included close ties with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in Aberdeenshire to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
