Individuals and stakeholders will have a chance to get involved in the Career Review through related activity, including surveys and a series of SDS led Living Labs.

Surveys

Mapping Scotland’s career services survey - closes 23 April

As part of the Careers Review we are working with Professor Tristram Hooley to map the provision of careers services in Scotland. Through this research, we are asking all organisations in Scotland that provide any career services to young people to complete a survey. In this survey we will ask you about your organisation, the services you provide and your funding and evaluation. The survey will close at 11.59pm on Friday 23 April.

Teaching practitioner survey - closes 12 May

SDS are working with partners on a collaborative review of all careers services in Scotland.

As part of the review we’re keen to gather the views of teaching practitioners across schools, colleges, universities and learning providers regarding careers services.

We have produced a short survey that aims to understand the approach used by teaching practitioners to supporting individuals making careers decisions.  The tools, resources and support they use and what changes would ensure careers services are better equipped to support individuals in the future.

The survey should take no more than five minutes to complete and will close before midnight on 12 May.

Living Labs

Living Labs are a new approach to open innovation where multiple stakeholders and partners can come together, be actively involved in the design process and where open discussion, mutual understanding and the framing and reframing of challenges and opportunities from different perspectives are used as the basis for innovation.

This approach, alongside research and international evidence, will allow SDS to gather insight and intelligence which will support the design and development of the review, whilst keeping our customers at the heart of the process.

Participants will include a range of international experts, individuals and practitioners from across the skills and learning system.

The Career Review Living Lab will begin later this year. More information on involvement will be shared through this website in the coming months - you can leave your details now to register your interest in being involved.
