To ensure that everyone in Scotland can access
our services, Skills Development Scotland works in partnership with
private learning providers and colleges to deliver national
training programmes (NTPs).
Becoming a Skills Development Scotland learning provider is a
great way to help support people of all ages to fulfil their
learning potential. To help put everything in place to deliver
first class training, Skills Development Scotland learning
providers are each given an annual budget to roll out NTPs.
At the end of the year, you might even find yourself up for a
National Training Award - the UK's highest award for training and
development identifies those individuals and organisations who have
had outstanding success through investment in skills.

Get Ready for Work (GRfW)
Get Ready for Work arranges skills training and work placements
for people aged 16 to 19 who are finding it difficult to access
training, learning and employment. A training allowance is
provided, along with all the support necessary for GRfW
participants to prepare for the world of work.
Training for Work (TfW)
Training for Work provides vocational training support to people
aged 18 or over who have been unemployed for some time and are
actively looking for work. TfW participants are encouraged to
undertake vocational training targeted at filling gaps in the local
labour market, giving individuals the best chance of securing
permanent employment.
Skillseekers
Skillseekers is a vocational training programme for young people
who want to develop skills and train to nationally recognised
standards at SVQ level 2 or 3. It's open to school leavers aged 16
to 19 who are looking for work or already have a job. Skillseekers
will gradually be replaced over time as the Modern Apprenticeships
programme has extended its opportunities to include SVQ and NVQ
Level 2 qualifications.
Modern Apprenticeships
Modern Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 or over who
lives in Scotland and wishes to work towards industry recognised
accreditations. Modern Apprenticeships are available in a wide
range of sectors and offer individuals the opportunity to train as
a craftsperson or for a technical or managerial role whilst in paid
employment.
