LMI Events

Sectoral LMI events are arranged to highlight skills issues in Scotland's key sectors. These events bring together employers and Sector Skills Councils with the guidance and education community to learn about challenges and issues facing the sectors and usually involve the presentation of LMI messages and the opportunity to network with employers and employees within a sector.

  • Food and Drink LMI Event

    07 March 2012

    There was a Food and Drink LMI event at the Thistle hotel in Glasgow on Friday 2 March where 60 staff and partners heard about skills opportunities and challenges in this sector. We have the presentations from the day available to read online.

  • Sector Skills Council LMI Event

    23 February 2012

    Skills Development Scotland and the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils organised a LMI event on 31 January for 120 SDS staff and partners. Presentations from the day are available here.

  • Skills for Health event

    19 December 2011

    A Sectoral LMI event for Health was held on Monday 12 December at the Scottish Health Service Centre in Edinburgh. Around 60 staff and partners from across SDS, Further Education and Higher Education attended this event to learn and share information about skills requirements and career opportunities within the NHS in Scotland.   • Tourism event November 2011

    16 November 2011

    There was a Tourism LMI event at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on 11 November 2011 where delegates from the skills community heard from industry representatives. We have the presentations from the event available to read online.

    A Financial Services Sectoral LMI event was held at Scottish Widows, Edinburgh on 27 September 2011. 50 delegates attended to hear about Financial Services and the recent growth in the Investment sub-sector. We have the presentations from the event available to read online.
