The Scottish Government's vision for Careers Information, Advice and Guidance is underpinned by a requirement for services which keep abreast of the latest developments in the labour market and emerging opportunities.

To achieve this, our staff need access to national, local and sectoral Labour Market Information and intelligence, in one place. We are happy to share this resource with partners, government and other bodies dedicated to advancing skills in Scotland.

We also manage and develop Research Online, Scotland's Labour Market Intelligence Hub. This provides free access to almost 9,000 Labour Market Intelligence reports and analyses, many focused specifically on Scotland. New material is added daily. You can sign up for regular alerts of new material on Research Online here.

We also produce Labour Market Focus, Scotland's monthly labour market newsletter and this is another service you can sign up for on this site.

Research Online

Skills Development Scotland's Research Online portal provides a single gateway to the most recent and relevant labour market intelligence. It contains details of material on all aspects of labour markets with particular reference to Scotland.

Skills Development Scotland produces a monthly Labour Market Newsletter, Labour Market Focus, which is normally published on the last working day of each month. Sign up to receive it in your inbox.
Skills in Focus

The Skills in Focus series of events is intended to support informed debate around current and future skills issues. The series has been developed by the Skills Committee, which is jointly sponsored by the Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland.
