Junior Saltire Prize Award 2012

Are you interested in making Scotland greener through greater use of renewable energy?

This competition is open to all primary P5-P7 and secondary S1-S3, S4-S6 schools pupils in Scotland.

Entry participation can be by a team or a whole class. Schools can submit multiple entries provided each is registered separately.

After the closing date, a short-listed number of schools will be invited to attend Celebration of Engineering and Science which is hosted by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI).

A maximum of 4 pupils will be allowed to represent each team / class at this Celebration event. This year's event will be held on Friday 8 June 2012 at the Glasgow Science Centre

Download the registration form and the criteria for your class.

Email the completed registration form to jsaward@sds.co.uk by Tuesday 31 January 2012 at the latest.

Here's what your team could win:

  • Primary P5-P7: £500 for the winner; £250 highly commended
  • Secondary S1-S3: £600 for the winner; £300 highly commended
  • Secondary S4-S6: £750 for the winner; £350 highly commended

The prize money is for the school to spend on science and technology resources.

All entrants must be registered by Tuesday 31 January 2012.
