For employers

We support employers to use skills development for growth and success.

The web service Our Skillsforce helps businesses recruit, develop and plan their workforce. It contains national and local information on the skills support available from public sector organisations in Scotland. This includes a range of funding for business and financial assistance.

Our Skillsforce has a Skills Alert feature so that employers can flag their specific skills needs and be assisted to the best package of support available.

We also deliver tailored support. Working with partners, we support inward investment and sectoral growth as well as assisting local businesses, large and small, to benefit from a wide range of funding programmes. These programmes include Modern Apprenticeships, Employer Recruitment Incentives, Flexible Training Opportunities, the Energy Skills Challenge Fund and the Low Carbon Skills Fund.

We make sure we understand employer and industry issues both to shape our services to individuals and to provide career management related information to our customers. We also work with employers and industry groups to articulate and prioritise skills development needs in sectors, through joint production of Skills Investment Plans and Skills Action Plans.
