Equality and diversity
Skills Development Scotland is fully
committed to promoting equality and diversity both as an employer
and in the services provided.
SDS works to ensure that services and products are
available to everyone regardless of:
- Gender reassignment
- Pregnancy / maternity
- Sexual orientation
- Religion or belief.
The Equality Act 2010 and the Specific Duties Scotland
Regulations 2012 detail what public sector organisations like
Skills Development Scotland must do. The Equality and Diversity Mainstreaming Report
describes how SDS complies with the requirements of this
legislation and how SDS aims to go beyond this and demonstrate
good practice. It contains details of SDS Equality
Outcomes, the Equal Pay Statement and Equal Pay Gap
The legislation also requires SDS to complete and publish
Equality Impact Assessments for
relevant policies and services
The SDS Equality Advisory Group involves key stakeholders
who provide the organisation with expert advice and
support to ensure SDS is able to consider the needs of
all customers when developing and delivering services.
